Transform your Acorn & Leaf templates into delightful little projects in under 30 minutes! Perfect for last-minute decor, gifts, or just because. Pick one, grab your glue, and let’s make something charming.

Vintage Page Leaf Banner

A charming, effortless nature banner that comes together using some painted leaves and printed pages cut into pennant shapes. You'll need:

  • Your finished Acorn & Leaf leaves and acorns
  • Printed pages: old books, sheet music, old maps, handwritten letters or newspapers (we used a grocery store flyer).
  • Our free pennant template and a sheet of card stock
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Twine cut to the length of your banner
  • Various handprinted leaves with newsprint  pennants and orange twine for a leaf banner tutorial for Cakewalk DIY.

    1. Cut the Pennants

    • Download, print & cut the free pennant template using card stock.
    • Trace the template onto printed pages (old books, maps, sheet music, handwritten letters, etc.).
    • Cut out 8–12 pennants.
  • 2. Add the Leaves

    • Fold the top ½ inch of each pennant to create a twine channel.
    • Glue a leaf or acorn (or a few small ones) to the center of each pennant, avoiding the top fold area. Let dry.

    3. String & Hang

    • Flip each pennant over and run the twine along the crease of your top fold
    • Glue the fold shut across the back, leaving room for the pennant to move.
    • Adjust the pennant spacing.
    • Hang the finished banner on a mantel, doorway, dessert table, or anywhere that needs a little quiet magic!

Hanging Ornament

A single leaf becomes a twinkling accent. Make a wire loop, add twine, and hang it anywhere—on a gift, a tree, or your rearview mirror. Try layering two leaves for extra pop! Grab your finished leaves or acorns, floral wire, yarn/ribbon, and scissors.

    1. Make Pin Loop

    • Follow directions from the Acorn-Leaf template to make a loop pin using floral wire.

    2. Attach Loop

    Tape a wire loop to the back of your leaf, acorn or cluster.

    3. Finish and Hang

    Thread the yarn, twine or ribbon through the loop, and hang.

Napkin Rings

Elevate your table with a leaf-wrapped ring. Mix colors or add a tiny acorn for rustic flair. Grab your finished leaves or acorns, floral wire, yarn/ribbon, and scissors.

  • 1. Roll a napkin

    • Fold and roll a napkin so that it keeps its shape.
    • Follow directions from the Acorn-Leaf template to make an acorn, leaf, or cluster with a loop pin.
  • 2. Tie the Pin Loop

    • Wrap twine or yarn around the napkin 2-3 times and finish by threading it through the pin loop.
    • For a ribbon, wrap once and attach the pin loop.

    3. Finish

    • Position the twine, yarn or ribbon and the leaf/acorn on the napkin and secure.
    • For twine or yarn, tie a knot at the back of the napkin and trim the ends.
    • For a ribbon, tie or make a loop and cut.

Oak Leaf Place Cards

Make every guest feel special by customizing an oak leaf with metallic ink, then use floral wire to attach it to a mini-pumpkin (or use a 3D paper pumpkin from our 3D Pumpkin & Squash templates!

Grab a paper oak leaf, pen, floral wire, wire cutters, safety pin and either a mini-pumpkin or a small 3D paper pumpkin.

    1. Prep the Leaf

    • Cut a piece of floral wire about 3 inches long.
    • Pierce the end of an oak leaf near the start of the stem with a safety pin.

    2. Tape the Wire

    • Thread the wire through the pin hole across the back of the leaf and secure with tape.
    • Glue an identical leaf of top to hide the wire and tape.
  • 3. Finish

    • Tightly wrap the end of the wire around the stem of either a paper pumpkin or a real mini-pumpkin.
    • Adjust the leaf angle as desired.
